Jessops? - Nah!
5 days on and the money has still not been taken from my account and I've had no correspondence from Jessops - In the marketplace of today, where online traders are competing for business and same-day dispatch or even same-day delivery is now the norm, Jessops are severely failing and I won't be using them again.
UPDATE!
An email back from Jessops within an hour advised me they were out of stock and expecting more stock later this week or early the following week…..Why was there no mention of the OOS situation on the website or even an email at the time of ordering they were waiting for stock….?
UPDATE 2
I'm wondering if I now have something in common with Nigel Farage, have I been 'de-Jessop'd? I've spent thousands of pounds, (including one of my current cameras), over a 30-year period as a pro 'tog and had an albeit, a very distant (professional) connection with the Jessops founder, Frank Jessop, and I've just seen the pending transaction for my Samsung T7 has now disappeared from my online banking, I've still had no correspondence from Jessops. The plot thickens, I'll keep you advised!
LATEST
An email from DPD advising a package from Jessops will be delivered on Monday 4th December (originally ordered on 22nd November) - Great service Jessops, I'll pay the extra next time and use Amazon!
2nd Dec 2023
Samsung T7 SSD arrived.
FINAL COMMENT…..
I suppose the lesson from this episode with Jessops, is cheaper doesn’t always pay. For a tech company, the Jessops website would certainly benefit from stock control information and an ’out of stock’ display. Email communication certainly needs to be improved, when I ordered I received an acknowledgement, I had to chase 5 days later to be told they were waiting for stock later that week or early the following week, an email at the time of ordering advising me my item was out of stock and allowing me the choice to wait or cancel would have been appreciated, and for a high tech company, it would have been the more professional approach to good customer relations and the retaining of a customer for the future.
